The X temporary directories has to be created early to avoid a race condition where people can do something bad to the X server and other X programs... AFAIR... I can't recall the details, just that there issues with nuking the X temporary directories which means it needs to be done careful. I would guess the cvs logs for the respective scripts should document the issues. -- Simon L. Nielsen
