Sorry, I can't find a way to reply to the messages that have gone past
overnight, so I'll start again.
* The PVR-250 is an analogue card. If you're feeding it a digital
source, you won't get any signal.
* Before you can use the card, you need to tune to a signal.
Currently the program pvr250-setchannel does that; effectively the
same program exists in 7-CURRENT as setchannel, and I'll MFC it when
I'm happy with the rest.
Tune like this:
$ setchannel -m <channel-set> channel-no
If you're in the USA using terrestial TV, <channel-set> is 1. Cable
is 2. If you're using a satellite connection, you'll need some kind
of converter.
I'm not sure about the status of the man page for setchannel, but if
you run it without arguments you should get a help message.
* The current driver from usleep doesn't report errors when you try to
tune to a channel without a signal. The old one (multimedia/pvr250)
did. This is on my "to do" list.
Once you have tuned to a channel, you can cat /dev/cxm0 somewhere.
After that, you're in a position to set up MythTV. I'd strongly
recommend using a terrestial source first to confirm that your card is
working properly, then investigate the satellite input, and only then
fighting MythTV.
