I wanted a class-C network and my ISP is happy that i use HDLC because it
is the fastest way and is setup and operated without _any_ problems (in
contrast to the Windows weenies using the most hip PPP implementation of
the day).

Anyway - PPP seems to become the standard in this field, and it would be
nice to have a stable and fast implementation.
