Don't bother :) There is already a driver for this card (ALS4000, from the vendor/devids) in -CURRENT. I expect it will be MFC'd to 4.x during the next round of driver updates. I wouldn't recommend switching to -current to test the driver at this point in time... > Is there a newbie orientation tour of the FreeBSD audio system > available? Or can somebody share a few hints on how to get started? Best place to start would probably be the developers' handbook, which is linked somewhere from the website. It's primarily general information, not specific to newpcm. For that, you must use the Source until somebody can be bothered to write proper documentation :) -- +-------------------+---------------------+ | George Reid | FreeBSD Committer | | +44 7740 197460 | greid@FreeBSD.org | +-------------------+---------------------+ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
