FWIW, the upgrade to 12.4-RELEASE negatively affected all of my igb network
configurations that had worked previously on 12.2-STABLE. In one case, removing
the use of VLANs worked around this underlying issue -- thankfully I had enough
individual igb ports to do so. But in this case, I can't do this because I only
have 2 ports to work with.
