Recent versions of the Apache web server (httpd) support HTTP/1.1. Apache runs very well under both FreeBSD 2.2.x and 3.0-CURRENT, and surely older versions as well. Unless you are experienced with Unix and ready to track down problems, you should plan to install FreeBSD 2.2.5 rather than 3.0-CURRENT, since 3.0-CURRENT is a work-in-progress.
