Since you're running CURRENT, you could try the version included in
the cvs source (remove the manually downloaded version first).  The
cvs version should work (my wpi card still fails with an error 17 upon
association).  It also includes the firmware image.

Expect some harmless messages about misaligned memory when loading the driver.
