I'm using vinum on two machines quite successfully, but with
concat/striping, not RAID5 ... until now, my third machine ... and can't
seem to get it going ...
all ddrives have an 'a' partition that is set to vinum, and my vinum.cfg
file is:
drive d1 device /dev/da1s1a
drive d2 device /dev/da4s1a
drive d3 device /dev/da2s1a
drive d4 device /dev/da5s1a
volume raid
plex org raid5 512k
sd length 0 drive d1
sd length 0 drive d2
sd length 0 drive d3
sd length 0 drive d4
a vinum dumpconfig shows:
----------------
aittdb# vinum dumpconfig
Drive d1: Device /dev/da1s1a

why is my volume 'raid' state down?
if i do a 'vinum start' after the 'vinum create <config>', it hangs there
for awhiel and then returns ...
aittdb# vinum start
