The original issue has been resolved with 0.11.2; it was an uninitialised
variable.

Unfortunately this release introduces another SegFault problem, reported
upstream here: https://github.com/brailcom/speechd/issues/762

Attached is a patch to resolve this new issue while waiting for upstream to
flow through.
