Last night my box produced the following, 1) Why might that "shared object has..." message appear? 2) How do I fix it? 3) Why is my WinTV message in kernel log? 4) Does it need attention? by the way, sometimes wintv is recognized without remote, thou it has one, and sometimes it works fine. I'm running 4.0-stable, uname -a: FreeBSD sjukebox 4.0-STABLE FreeBSD 4.0-STABLE #2: Thu Mar 30 20:38:49 EEST 2000 sjuke@sjukebox:/usr/src/sys/compile/CELERON i386 -----FW: <200004262300.CAA04110@sjukebox.home>----- Date: Thu, 27 Apr 2000 02:00:16 +0300 (EEST) From: Charlie Root <root> To: undisclosed-recipients:; Subject: sjukebox security check output checking setuid files and devices: /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: awk: Shared object has no run-time symbol table USER=root host=sjukebox HOME=/root PS1=# OPTIND=1 PS2=> LOGNAME=root PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin MP= TMP=/var/run/_secure.4109 SHELL=/bin/sh IFS= LC_ALL=C LOG=/var/log /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: xargs: Shared object has no run-time symbol table cmp: EOF on /var/run/_secure.4109 ** [ snip ] ** sjukebox kernel log messages: > Hauppauge WinCast/TV, Philips PAL I tuner. ** [ snip ] ** --------------End of forwarded message------------------------- @-`--,--`--- Jukka Simila To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
