Either should work fine. As far as I can tell by reading the makefiles the difference is that -DNOCLEAN is for both buildworld and buildkernel, while -DNO_KERNELCLEAN is just for buildkernel, i.e. -DNOCLEAN essentially implies -DNO_KERNELCLEAN.
