QuakeC sources, being installed, can be used just as the reference for average user, since most mods developers have their own work copies of sources. There's also versioning problem -- there're lots of derivative work based on QuakeWorld, and many teams produces their own version of this base QuakeC, with some modifications and bugfixes. This is like port of Netscape source code that was used to build Mozilla et al. Rather interesting, but pretty useless on its own. We usually put in the tree something that can be useful for at leat minor majority of our users, and can be used stand-alone (QuakeC compilers fit in this category, statically instaled sources code, IMHO, not). I really doubt that this port would gather lots of users interested in it. I'm ready to be proven wrong though. ./danfe
