>Release: 2.1.6.1 RELEASE
>Environment:
>Description:
Fe driver in 2.1 series of FreeBSD (2.1, 2.1.5, 2.1.6, 2.1.6.1) has
long had a problem in its probe code. It fails to recognize some
recent versions of FMV-180 series Ethernet cards.
>How-To-Repeat:
Plug an FMV-183 shipped after 1Q/96 on your machine,
configure fe driver in the kernel, and reboot the system.
>Fix:
I wrote an updated version of the driver for 2.1 RELEASE, which
is, fortunately, applicable to all versions between 2.1 and 2.1.6.1
(inclusive.)
It is available on an anonymous FTP site:
ftp://ftp.noc.titech.ac.jp/pub/tmp/aki/FreeBSD/fe/fe-2.1R.tar.gz
Please grab it and replace the source file with it.
