I'm using FreeBSD 4.1 Release (off the cdroms) and can't get my Sound
Blaster Vibra16X sound card to make much sound. It is configured
correctly, probes nicely, good status, no kernel messages, mixer values
non-zero, and when I cat an AU file into /dev/audio I hear just a very
faint, very short sound segment thru amplified speakers (yes, I have them
plugged into the correct hole :-)
The "cat" doesn't return instantly, but seems to take as long as the
sound file should last. The sound heard fainlty is a very short sample
of the file head at the beginning of the "cat".
I've read/searched the handbooks, diaries, faqs, mailing lists, etc.
Nothing works. Vital stats below.
Any other clues? Other debugs?
