Discussing ntfs/mbr thread a question came by. How do I remove the BSD boot manager if I want to use the windows XP one. thanks in advance Gerardo _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ There's likely something else you can do in XP, but I've never used XP - these are the ways I know. Boot to DOS using a Win98 boot floppy. (If you don't have one, format a:/s may work in a command window if WinXP has one available, or "copy system files" may be an available option in Win XP's format dialog.) Then boot from the floppy and either: (1) at the DOS prompt, type fdisk /mbr, or (2) you may be able to achieve the same effect by typing fdisk, then going through the fdisk options to mark your Win partition active. Don't just remove the FreeBSD boot manager. Without a boot loader/manager, your computer won't boot.
