What fails when you run it as non-root?

You can use 'truss' to watch what it's doing; I'd recommend the '-o' 
option to stuff the truss output into a file (as long as Wingz is 
exiting normally).

You can also use 'ktrace' and the 'linux_kdump' port; this has about 
the same functionality and an output format that some people prefer.
