Hi
It is happens on fresh 7-CURRENT.
$ man 4 iwi
...
This driver requires firmware to be loaded before it will work.
You need
to install the net/iwi-firmware port before ifconfig(8) will work
...
/usr/ports/net/iwi-firmware# make
===> iwi-firmware-2.4 iwi(4) support is already included in your tree.
/usr/ports/net/iwi-firmware#
$ find /usr/src -name '*iwi*' | fgrep -v iwic
/usr/src/share/man/man4/iwi.4
/usr/src/sys/dev/iwi
/usr/src/sys/dev/iwi/if_iwi.c
/usr/src/sys/dev/iwi/if_iwireg.h
/usr/src/sys/dev/iwi/if_iwivar.h
/usr/src/sys/modules/iwi
/usr/src/tools/tools/iwi
/usr/src/tools/tools/iwi/iwistats.c
$
What is official way to fetch firmware now ?
