Sorry, but if you make an objective evaluation, Windows *sucks* as a desktop. It forces you into the click-to-type model for window management, which is the least efficient model of the common models. Using follow-mouse takes fewer actions - and hence less time - to achieve most common desktop tasks. If you're willing to invest a little time learning something radically different, you can shave a *lot* of actions - and thus a lot of time - off those tasks.
