Suspend (apm -z) only works the first time after bootup. After the first wakeup, all other suspends fail silently (i.e. the screen doesn't go dark, no messages about SUSPENDREQ in syslog). 2. Standby (apm -Z) does the same thing anytime: Blanks the screen, spins down the drive, and after 3-5 seconds brings everything back up, because it thinks it got a STANDBYRESUME request. Attached are dmesg and apm logs of the system. I've disabled all "resume-on-X" settings in the BIOS, because I thought they might cause this (but no change). Any ideas? Thanks, Lars -- Lars Eggert <larse@isi.edu> Information Sciences Institute http://www.isi.edu/larse/ University of Southern California --------------3FFD7026FFB1B527E748ADB7 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; name="apm" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="apm" APM version: 1.2 APM Managment: Enabled AC Line status: off-line Battery status: high Remaining battery life: 76% Remaining battery time: 8:25:00 Number of batteries: 2 Battery 0: Battery status: high Remaining battery life: 77% Remaining battery time: 4:01:00 Battery 1: Battery status: high Remaining battery life: 75% Remaining battery time: 4:24:00 Resume timer: disabled Resume on ring indicator: disabled APM Capacities: global standby state global suspend state resume timer from suspend --------------3FFD7026FFB1B527E748ADB7 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; name="dmesg" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="dmesg" Copyright (c) 1992-2001 The FreeBSD Project.
