Hello, Your problem seems more related to the way the RZ1000 chip is handled. In the bootup text you can see that the primary ata controller is not found. I have had a similar problem with a Pentium 75 board, and I ended up disabling the RZ1000 chip in BIOS, using only an already existing isa bus ATA interface on the motherboard. There has already been a small discussion on this around 27 Sept 2002 on the stable list. The subject line was "setrootbyname error upon install/upgrade".
