I really suspect this is due to some interaction between the "tty-level buffer overrun" error message handling. I have numerous instances of this: login: sio0: 727 more tty-level buffer overflows (total 727) sio0: 786 more tty-level buffer overflows (total cu: Got hangup signal on my console. Taking RS_IBUFSIZE up to 4096 from 256 seems to be much more effective a workaround than the one I reported earlier today in that it hasn't yet failed....IClearly though the underlying problem still exists and this will probably only work for a little while...
