I've tried adaptec multiple 2940U2W & 39160 (ahc_pci), as well as an LSI
U160 (sym), swapped cables, terminators, the LTO-3 drive itself (we have
2 new identical libraries/drives), removed extraneous PCI cards, and
have swapped PCI slots. Ultimately I am stuck with SCSI parity errors.
Using the LSI card, the devices "work", albeit severely degraded.
Initially, this project began on RHEL5 (per this shop's requirements);
but I installed RELENG_6 on it, in hopes of gleaning more useful
debugging info.
I've just installed yet another adaptec 39160 (flashed to latest BIOS),
disabled int13h on both channels, and again am getting nowhere. "Best"
thus far has been with the LSI with max throughput being about 4475.6
KB/s (see linux dmesg far below).
