Unfortunatly I toasted it pretty bad trying to move from 4.11 to 5.4, so it's a fresh install that I'm scrambling to get re-setup. One thing I noticed in this debacle, when I booted under 5-stable, my SCSI card, AHA1 did not report as being stuck under the giant lock, yet it is under 6.0b5? I'm hoping thats the cause of my throughput regression. Under 4.11 I could sustain 1.4MB/sec writing to disc, 5-Stable held at 1.2MB/sec, I'm now down at 800KB/sec with 6.0b5. Are all the debug options disabled in beta 5, or are they going to stay until RC1? Joshua Coombs
