>Description:
I am running FreeBSD 5.3-BETA on a virtual machine under VMware ESX 2.1.1.
The Virtual machine has *ONE* processor, I'm not sure that PREEMPTION is allow in this case; anyway I post this bug in case it may be usefull...
If I add `option PREEMPTION' to the kernel configuration of 5.3-BETA5,
the boot process freeze. Without this option all is OK. Here is
the dmesg of the boot and the freeze point:
Timecounter "TSC" frequency 2192468776 Hz quality 800
Timecounters tick every 10.000 msec
ipfw2 initialized, divert enabled, rule-based forwarding disabled, default to deny, logging disabled
