I can conform it fails on 4.7-PRERELEASE. I've already communicated
with the maintainer, who is of the opinion that ports should use hdf5
instead of hdf whenever possible. But I've also found that porting to
hdf5 is non-trivial (the header file arrangement is all different, etc.)
