Here's the uname -a string for a kernel cvsup-ed on Friday afternoon: FreeBSD rdwarrior.aero.org 4.4-STABLE FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE #6: Sat Sep 29 20:19:50 PDT 2001 root@rdwarrior.cs.ucla.edu:/usr/src/sys/compile/RDWARRIOR i386 pcm exhibits a reaaaalllllyyyyyy slow playout when the VAIO is put into BIOS PNP-OS mode, and the kernel detects the following (with the error happening on playout): Oct 2 09:53:32 rdwarrior /kernel: pcm0: <Yamaha DS-1E (YMF744)> mem 0xfedf0000 -0xfedf7fff irq 9 at device 9.0 on pci0 Oct 2 10:16:11 rdwarrior /kernel: pcm0: play interrupt timeout, channel dead When I put the VAIO into BIOS non-PNP-OS mode, I get the following detection string and playout occurs normally: Oct 2 10:24:06 rdwarrior /kernel: pcm0: <Yamaha DS-1E (YMF744)> port 0xfc8c-0xfc8f,0xfcc0-0xfcff mem 0xfedf8000-0xfedfffff irq 9 at device 9.0 on pci0 >How-To-Repeat: [kernel configuration file "RDWARRIOR"] device pcm0 >Fix: Dunno.
