Hi, really need some advice on this since it's driving me crazy by now since I cannot determine the problem: Jun 25 20:27:50 daemon /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x110 Jun 25 20:28:18 daemon /kernel: Unexpected busfree. LASTPHASE == 0x40 Jun 25 20:30:40 daemon /kernel: SEQADDR == 0x10f That's what I get when I/O intense stuff happens on one of my HD's. Funny thing is it's always this particular HD. Not one of the others. My current setup consists of: ahc0: <Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI adapter> irq 11 at device 17.0 on pci0 ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs Waiting 15 seconds for SCSI devices to settle da2 at ahc0 bus 0 target 2 lun 0 da2: <SEAGATE ST39173W 6244> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da2: 20.000MB/s transfers (10.000MHz, offset 8, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled da2: 8683MB (17783240 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 1106C) da1 at ahc0 bus 0 target 1 lun 0 da1: <QUANTUM FIREBALL SE6.4S PJ0A> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da1: 10.000MB/s transfers (10.000MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled da1: 6149MB (12594960 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 784C) da0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: <QUANTUM FIREBALL_TM3200S 300X> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da0: 10.000MB/s transfers (10.000MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled da0: 3067MB (6281856 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 391C) da3 at vpo0 bus 0 target 5 lun 0 da3: <IOMEGA ZIP 100 PLUS J.66> Removable Direct Access SCSI-2 device da3: 96MB (196608 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 96C) changing root device to da0s1a cd0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 5 lun 0 cd0: <SONY CD-ROM CDU-415 1.1i> Removable CD-ROM SCSI-2 device cd0: 10.000MB/s transfers (10.000MHz, offset 15) cd0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present This is on a CURRENT system, cvsupped daily and made world (almost) daily. I also had a 2940U2W in there which gave the same problems. It's currently laid out like this: da2-----ahc----da1---da0---cd0---active-terminator I have termination of on all devices except da2. Termination of the ahc is set to high on/low off or even automatic. The ahc/da2 cable is a 68 pins cable the other cable is a 50 pins one. Do you guys reckon I need to buy an active terminator for my 68 pins cable as well or buy a new cable? If any more information is needed I am happy to give it... (like cable langth and such) Thank you very much in advance, -- Jeroen Ruigrok van der Werven asmodai(at)wxs.nl The *BSD Programmer's Documentation Project Network/Security Specialist <http://home.wxs.nl/~asmodai> *BSD: We are back and will not accept no...
