have checked /usr/src/UPDATING, and found: 20010319: portmap had changed name to rpcbind for maximum POLA in your current world. /etc/hosts.{allow,deny} needs changes. nfs and other rpc based programs that rely on portmapper will not work without updates to /etc/hosts.{allow,deny}. But my hosts.allow is up to date as of May 5th ...
