Running these cards as access point is not supported on FreeBSD (or officially
by Intel [*]) as pointed out in
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=287632#c1

Using wlanmode sta will allow you to use them as clients and get connected to
an access point.




[*] they can do AP mode but only in 2.4Ghz not in 5Ghz (or irrelevant to your
card 6Ghz).
