Why did you feel the need to email this?  I already *did* back it out 20
minutes ago from when you asked me to on IRC.  What respond did I give
that made you think I had refused?

Just to set the record staight, the printf *did* cause painful problems
for over a year; until Peter's change a month ago that I missed.
