> Is it the AMD64 that works with Xeon processors? Yes. For historical reason, because amd was the first on the market to produce 64 bit CPU, it is called amd64. If you plan to go for FreeBSD 7, you may have to 1) upgrade the firmware of your 1950 2) customize the kernel and remove what is useless some drivers in the GENERIC kernel hang at boot with FreeBSD 7.
