more debug prints

Ok, let's add some more printf()s.

Please recompile the kernel with WITH_CLEAN=3D, i.e., "make buildkernel
WITH_CLEAN=3D".

Please also keep booting with debug.verbose_sysinit=3D1 set from the loader.
