Ok, let's get this clear:
1.new kernel, latest sources, latest softupdates
on P5-133 x 2 / 7880 UW onboard Adaptec, 4Gb UW.
Note: /tmp and /pub were mounted async.
NOT /usr/src. i.e.:
/pub async only
/tmp async only
/usr/src softupdates only
- make -j4 buildworld. 3 minutes -> PANIC
2.I reboot, fsck^H^H^Hnewfs /usr/src & untar a clean
source backup
- I mount everything "normal" (no sync, no async
specified), but /usr/src is softupdate'd:
make -j4 buildworld.
It's been running for 40 minutes so far. No glitch.
Observations:
It looks like mounting async _other_ FS'es
than a softupdate one still causes panics --
this wasn't explicit in the last messages.
AHC_TAGENABLE and AHC_ALLOWMEMIO no good for me
(SCB lockups, couldn't even break into the debugger).
