i have a really strange problem, my soundcard an es1371 soundblaster pci64 worked very well with freebsd 4.1 stable only 1,5 weeks ago! i had everything needed, device pcm in the kernel conf and device snd0 in /dev and the like. as i said, no problem at all playing mp3z and wavs... and about a week ago, either i did something i dont remember anymore or the deamon turned into a devil. there are no warning or error messages at startup nor any warnings while xmms or so is running. trying to play some mp3z with xmms it starts to trouble. the music is being played, but along with that, i hear a really shrill, loud and annoying sound. xmms slows down, and the system is being slowed down too a bit. anyway, the result is, i cant hear my music anymore with freebsd and that is something to worry about IMHO... has anyone got any ideas what i could have done, or what could have happened? the card is ok, it still works under windows... i just cant remember what i could have done, or what could cause such a failure, need help... thanks a bunch regards Andreas Ntaflos To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
