In fact, I then added a new line with 'ulimit -c 0' after the one with -s.
When the plugin successfully crashed, no core dump were produced.
So I'm partially happy, because now I have less stress on hd.
Anyway the lag still happens. Maybe I made a wrong assumption about the cause.
