The extra >memory on GA620 should not cause 40-50% difference in my opinion. It seems like this is "nge" driver of other problem, may be hardware... In my experiments (year ago under 3.x) I got the same results for copper vs. fiber using the same "ti" driver in netperf tests GA620 (fiber) vs. GA620T (copper).
