here's what you have (after hacking tcpdump a bit):
I'd try asking for a service name of "ISP"
i.e. xl0:PPPoE:ISP
(or is that in the other order....)
19:55:34.628266 0:50:da:26:f2:3c Broadcast 3c12 32: PPPoE PADI [Host-Uniq UTF8]
19:55:34.628892 0:c0:49:28:5a:68 0:50:da:26:f2:3c 3c12 103: PPPoE PADO
[Service-Name "3Com DL Manager"] [Service-Name "ISP"] [Service-Name] [AC-Name
"3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem Dual Link"] [Host-Uniq UTF8]
19:55:34.628958 0:50:da:26:f2:3c 0:c0:49:28:5a:68 3c12 73: PPPoE PADR [Host-Uniq
UTF8] [AC-Name "3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem Dual Link"]
We should have asked for a service name here I think..
19:55:34.629420 0:c0:49:28:5a:68 0:50:da:26:f2:3c 3c12 60: PPPoE PADS
[Service-Name-Error] [Host-Uniq UTF8]
** Looks like it's returning an error, which we don't recognise as such.
