Unfortunately my BIOS doesn't have that option. I had another look, and found a different option named "Virtual install disk" and this one was enabled. I set it to disabled, rebooted, and FreeBSD booted successfully from the CD-ROM. Hope this helps someone in the future. Thanks again Daisuke-san. David
