Subject:   Can't get into "root" account

I installed FreeBSD 4.2 release over the weekend - I can only login to my
local user account and not the root or admin account, please help.  When I
boot I receive an initial "de0 cannot autosense, cabling problem? " I hit
enter and it takes me to a normal login prompt, where, as I told you I can
only login to my local account and it says I don't have the rights to do
anything.
