I realize I'm the only reader of -stable : still awake, but I'll welcome your input in the morning. =) Basically, you need to update to the latest stable, you need to reconfigure your kernel and then run make depend. Then it should build. However, you'll also need to bring in the if_xe* files from -current. I think at this point they will just compile, but I'm not positive about that.
