There's a new ATA driver in 9.0 and I believe there were a few bugs in its CD-audio support. They've been fixed in the upcoming 9.1 (expected end of August). In the mean time, the easiest solution would be to upgrade to 9-STABLE. Alternatively you could switch back to the old ATA driver but that's a bit tricky because it also changes your disk devices in /etc/fstab.
