So why did I get that impression? Hmm...-what- handbook entry on 
snapshots? It's not in the table of contents and I can't grep
through WWW pages without a search engine.

It was just a thought. When I write code, and fix a bug, I write a
test case that tickles the bug. Voila...I don't have to fix the bug
again.
