It appears to be an advanced and complex setup, resulting in a
hard-to-reproduce issue. I wonder - was it ever supported ? Perhaps it's not
WireGuard, but a carp(4) or a firewall issue ?
Was PF or IPFW used? Or perhaps IPF in this case ? Could you post a detailed
or, even better, a scripted way to reproduce ?
