I'm running FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE and I'm having a problem with poppassd. The kernel is pretty standard, except that it is built to allow 256 simultaneous terminal connections. I keep getting <blah>: can't open slave pty: Permission denied whenever I try to use poppassd to change the password. The session stalls out right after newpass is entered. I recompiled poppassd to provide the exact pty that it found and is trying to use, and its output is as follows: <blah>: can't open slave pty: (/dev/ttype) Permission denied Any ideas where I should look next? -- Mark P.
