If you mean that your root partition is readonly, issue a: /sbin/mount / command to mount it read-write. After that you can edit the rc.conf, fstab, etc files to what you like. If your favorite editor complains about the terminal, try this: TERM=cons25 to set the TERM environment variable to something reasonable.
