The = UPS does not appear to work; I stopped apcupsd, and apctest cannot open the dev= ice. Clearing the sysctl makes the messages start again, but apctest does not wo= rk. Unfortunately, I did not try apctest before setting the sysctl. Booting with debug.acpi.disabled=3D"usb" did not seem to change anything: t= he messages continued, apcupsd complained about losing communication, and apct= est didn't work. hw.usb.disable_enumeration=3D1 still stopped the messages, but apcupsd still complains about lost communiction.
