It is not really a bug (call it a misfeature :-)). It is just that you
lacks a propre XKeysymDB file and the proper nls/* tree soewhere with
env. var. pointing at them...

XKEYSYMDB=/users/roberto/lib/XKeysymDB
XNLSPATH=/users/roberto/lib/nls
