>From last year -- 10 months ago -- which I happen to have handy:
size	access	RPM	buffer	brand	model	type	price
------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------
530MB	13ms	4500	256k	Fujitsu	M2684T	IDE	$169
530MB	13ms	4500	256k	Fujitsu	M2684S	SCSI	$180

1083MB	11ms	4090	256K	NEC	D3727	IDE	$235
1083MB	11ms	4090	256K	NEC	D3827	SCSI	$295

2.5" drives:

512MB	17ms	-	-	Quantum	DT512	IDE	$345
512MB	17ms	-	-	Quantum	DT512	SCSI	$345
810MB	13ms	-	-	Toshiba	MK2628	IDE	$499
810MB	13ms	-	-	Toshiba	MK2628	SCSI	$499

Removable:

135MB	13.5ms	-	-	SyQuest	EZ135	IDE	$199
135MB	13.5ms	-	-	SyQuest	EZ135	SCSI	$229
270MB	13.5ms	-	128k	SyQuest	SQ3270A	IDE	$335
270MB	13.5ms	-	128k	SyQuest	SQ3270S	SCSI	$339
100MB	29ms	-	-	IOmega	Zip	EX PP	$199
100MB	29ms	-	-	IOmega	Zip	EX SCSI	$199

I'd compare tape drives, but there aren't any for IDE.
I'd compare optical drives, but there aren't any for IDE.
I'd compare CD-R drives, but there aren't any for IDE.
I'd compare magneto-optical drives, but there aren't any for IDE.
I'd compare DAT drives, but there aren't any for IDE.

I'd compare RAID, but it isn't available for IDE.
I'd compare striping, but of course, with only 2 drives, IDE can't
	compete.

"IDE is cheaper than SCSI" is a myth.
