Synopsis: bsdinstall(8) does not use partition labels in /etc/fstab Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-sysinstall->freebsd-geom Responsible-Changed-By: nwhitehorn Responsible-Changed-When: Mon Jun 18 03:48:00 UTC 2012 Responsible-Changed-Why: Reassigning to freebsd-geom. Using partition labels is not currently possible without integration of partition labels into the gpart module. The current mechanism that makes labeled devices show up in /dev is unreliable, does not apply to all partition schemes, and may not be present. There were experimental patches from ae@ but unfortunately I do not believe they have been committed. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=169077
