Well I can assure you X is you memory on the gfx card if it is working properly ^_^ Hmm, not aware of any commands to test what it's memory is, but you can check the logs for what the cards memory address and the like are... those should give a good idea of about what it has on it... also it should say during boot time... If you want to know just what the screen is using, just take 3*<width>*<hight>(note: this assumes 24bit per pixel) and this will give you the number of bytes the screen it self is using.
